What is this?

A list of retro handhelds released by some of the major manufacturers in the space, along with any relevant data that I could gather from their websites and around the internet about the device specifications. The list also provides a price-performance score for each handheld.

You have an error for XXX device. How do I get this fixed.

This is a work in progress and far from complete or accurate. Please send me an email (hey@muzz.works), and I will add/fix it as soon as I can. If you send me the relevant specs, it will make it a lot easier to get it added.

What is the price performance score and how is it calculated?

Price performance is essentially how much emulation performance you are getting for the given price. It is calculated as a value, where the lower the number the better. The current calculation being used is:

( {Price} + {Average Shipping Cost} ) / (({Fully Supported Systems Weighted} + ( {Good Supported Systems Weighted}*0.50 ) + ( {Partially Supported Systems Weighted}*0.20 ) + ( {Play Time}*0.25 )

Each supported playable system is assigned a weighted performance score, e.g., NES emulation - 1 point vs. GameCube emulation - 3 points, etc. This is roughly based on the difficulty of emulating the system. Less weight is given to partially supported systems and battery life hours.

How can I help this improve?

If a device is missing please send me an email hey@muzz.works or @muzzworks on Twitter / X. You can also help support this effort by buying me a coffee. ☕.
